Above the Clouds

Glancing out my window today wishing for sunshine got me thinking. Even though I only see the gloomy gray clouds,  I know the sun is still shining above. As I’m thinking this, I’m assured that even though the world looks gray and gloomy at times, our Son is still shining and in control of ALL things.

The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.  Great is the Lord in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations.  Let them praise your great and awesome name—he is holy.  Psalm 99:1-3

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.  Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. 1 Chronicles 29:11

Look Up

Even when things seem dark, just look up. God gives us stars to remind us He loves us and He is still for us.

Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing, O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Impact Someone

A sweet friend handed me an index card with Romans 15:13 handwritten on it. I taped it on the wall at my desk. I have meditated on it everyday. It has really made a difference in my week. I tell you this because you never know how much you will impact someone by following the Holy Spirit. My week has been filled with joy, peace and hope because of her.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Radical Kindness

Be radically kind in a world that is radically unkind. God is calling us to shock the the world with radical kindness. That is God’s love in action.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:9-12 NIV

God Consciousness?

Know and FULLY recognize with gratitude that the Lord himself is God. (Psalm 100:3)

Fully Recognize:  aware, realize, acknowledge, appreciation, understand, acceptance, informed.

What is it to really know someone.  The way they think.  Being able to finish their sentences.  Knowing their likes and dislikes.  Caring enough to learn all their characteristics and appreciating every one of them.  Then to not only “know” them but to recognize and be thankful for who they are.  To acknowledge all that they do, big and small.  To really “see” their heart and be grateful for their statement and presence and to show your confidence in this relationship to others.  Do we acknowledge more of HIS greatness above all the other noise of this world?  He’s bigger than COVID19, political riots, or catastrophe.  Magnifying Him above ALL else helps us to overcome all that this life brings.  Remember, with God ALL things are possible!!! (Matthew 19:26)

God, help us to keep our minds stayed on you so that we have YOUR perfect peace.  Casting our cares on you for you care for us.  Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory.  Amen.
