I had a sweet moment while shopping today. I was in the shoe section and a sweet girl named Abby asked me which shoe looked better for a wedding she was attending this weekend. I love shoes so I was all about it. We spent at least 30 minutes together. By the end of our time, I was helping her find her size in different styles and colors. She ended up with the first pair she had on. I told her it meant so much she asked me to help her and I was never able to be a Mom but today I felt like one. Turns out her Mom has the same name as mine. She shared her Mom left her at birth which broke my heart. To be honest I was so taken back, all I could say was I’m so sorry. I told her I hope she had a wonderful time at the wedding and we parted ways. I hope she saw Jesus and love through me today. I did my best to make sure she knew she mattered. If you pray for God to show you the hurting and broken, I assure you He will.
As I watched this beautiful sunset appear after a day of storms and tornado warnings one after another. A thought came to mind. This is like when God takes us through storms. We are fearful at times and it feels like it will never end but God brings us through. And after a while we look back and see God in all of it and we know, He never left us. We then begin see all the beauty the storm brought. Making us grateful and stronger than before.
I’ve been thinking about all the stuff going on in our world and to be honest it’s causing me to feel anxious and worry. Although I fight these feelings, some days it’s just too much. I’ve really been praying over it, asking God to show up and make things right. Asking Him why He’s allowing all this.
Earlier today God spoke to me and said, stop looking at all the stuff going on and look at me. Shift your focus and keep your eyes on me. All that’s going on is in my plan. I am still in control and will always be. Trust me, I got this.
Thank you Lord for reminding me. 💗
That people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things. Isaiah 45:6-7 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalms 46:10 ESV
Keep trusting that when the time is right, it will happen. In God’s timing, which is the hardest to understand and wait on. When we wait we learn patience, endurance and how to trust God.
Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near. James 5:7-8
What do people see and think about you? Do they see Jesus in you or something else? We are called to be so in love with God that we make him the center of our lives. If we do that, those around us will see Him. You never know, we may be the only Jesus they see.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5 NIV
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 ESV
