Yesterday I researched all afternoon on a work project I needed to learn how to do. By time I left, it still wasn’t right. I have to try it on my own before I give up and ask for help. This morning I gave in and called the help desk. They were able to walk me through and get the job done. I do this at work but I also catch myself not asking God for help. I try and try on my own but in the end I turn to Him. Psalm 46:1 reads “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” Why can’t I learn to do this in the beginning? It’s because I’m human. What about you? Do you go it alone or ask Him for help? Thanks for reading!
Do you ever have a day when you feel like everything you touch turns into a disaster? It feels like nothing went right? It’s just a plain old bad day. If you are like me by the end of the day you feel worn down and defeated. John 16:33 reads “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” I think we all have bad days. I know I do but you know what, though it all God is still there, He knows, He sees it all and He will overcome! Thanks for reading!
We are back after spending the weekend with good friends. We encouraged each other. We had some serious talks but we also laughed more than we have in months. I’m so thankful to be blessed by them. I know they are there for me and they know I am there for them. It reminds me of Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.” Do you have those special people in your life you call good friends? If not, you are missing out on many blessings. Thanks for reading!
I ran my first 10k today. It took me 1:57:08 to finish. I wasn’t able to run the entire time but I ran as much as I could. I felt like quitting several times but I kept going! He gave me people to encourage me to keep going . Yes I cried as I crossed the finish line. My first words were “Thank you Lord!” He was the one who helped me. When I felt like giving up, he gave me the strength to finish the race. Reminds me of Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” He will always help us finish anything that is put before us. Don’t give up, keep going! Do you ever feel that something is warning you not to do something? Even though you think what could happen if I do this? As we are on our way to the Bridge Run again this year, I was thinking about last year. We came to run but didn’t run it. We both had a feeling we shouldn’t. We were disappointed but the feeling was so strong we couldn’t ignore it. Thank goodness we didn’t hear of any bad thing that happened. To this day we don’t know why we felt it, but God does. I truly feel he was protecting us from something. Do you think God is trying to protect you from something? If so it’s wise to listen. Thanks for reading!
