I ran my first 10k today. It took me 1:57:08 to finish. I wasn’t able to run the entire time but I ran as much as I could. I felt like quitting several times but I kept going! He gave me people to encourage me to keep going . Yes I cried as I crossed the finish line. My first words were “Thank you Lord!” He was the one who helped me. When I felt like giving up, he gave me the strength to finish the race. Reminds me of Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” He will always help us finish anything that is put before us. Don’t give up, keep going! Do you ever feel that something is warning you not to do something? Even though you think what could happen if I do this? As we are on our way to the Bridge Run again this year, I was thinking about last year. We came to run but didn’t run it. We both had a feeling we shouldn’t. We were disappointed but the feeling was so strong we couldn’t ignore it. Thank goodness we didn’t hear of any bad thing that happened. To this day we don’t know why we felt it, but God does. I truly feel he was protecting us from something. Do you think God is trying to protect you from something? If so it’s wise to listen. Thanks for reading!
“Breathe in, Breathe out. Slow down, slow down. Everybody look around. Life is where we are now, Breathe in, Breathe out.” Words from a song by The Afters. It reminds me I sometimes get too busy with my life. I’m looking and planning ahead and making list but I’m forgetting I need live in my happiness in the moment. All this only wears me out and makes it harder to be a light for Jesus. I am going to make myself Breathe in, Breathe out. Slow down, slow down. How about you? Thanks for reading!
Doesn’t it seem like we are always waiting? Waiting at the light, at the store, on other people? Waiting on God? To me that’s the toughest wait. I want it now so I can get on with what I’m doing. I have to keep reminding myself of Psalm 27:14 “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” I also think of the past and how God is always faithful to his promises and always answers in his perfect timing. So thankful He loves me enough to make me wait.
